Azerbaijan, Baku

Azerbaijan is located at the crossroads of Eastern Europe and Western Asia and has significant potential for wind and solar energy, particularly around the Caspian Sea and in the country's liberated territories. Its location provides favourable conditions for both onshore and offshore wind development, while high solar potential creates opportunities for large-scale solar projects. Azerbaijan is working to diversify its energy sector and expand renewable generation through new clean energy projects, green energy zones, and improved electricity infrastructure. The country aims to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 40% by 2035 compared with 1990 levels and increase the share of renewable energy in installed electricity capacity to at least 30% by 2030. Renewable energy is also expected to strengthen regional energy cooperation and support Azerbaijan's transition toward a more sustainable and low-carbon economy.

By advancing renewable energy, energy efficiency, and circular economy practices, CECECO contributes to economic diversification, job creation, and regional cooperation.
